We need another American company making quality SAA's at a fair price like the old USFA company IMO. Most clones not listed below should use Colt springs -fitting may be required. 7.5 barrel, This Uberti CATTLEMAN is a clone of a Colt SAA in. A 4 5/8-inch barrel is adorned with a notch rear sight and a blade. Thumb Busters are fun as hell- find one you like you won't regret it. Barrel marked with Colt Single Action Army. The US Firearms Colt Single Action Army Clone a six-shot revolver chambered in 45 LC. Check the one you are buying out careful- before you take it home. For the most part, these copies are not as expensive as an original Colt, so they have found a waiting market with cowboy shooters and Colt SAA lovers. from factories in Germany and Italy, along with at least one excellent American-made copy. (For those who wonder, Sam Colt never saw. Today we have several replicas or clones of the SAA being imported into the U.S. Good wide triggers and coil springs.īe advised that QC with Ruger like many gun company's is spotty due to massive demand and increased output of product. One hundred and thirty years ago Colts brought out its Model P, also known as the Single Action Army revolver. My pick is the 45 ACP New Vaquero as I don't reload. 357 they (RNV) are to heavy for my tastes but in.
#Colt saa clones full
Sturdy, fun as hell, reasonable price, fast for the full six cylinders with the transfer bar, and many are accurate.

The Ruger New Vaquero is a bit bigger than the Colt not much- they are not a Colt SAA clone IMO more like a new imagining. I don't like the Italian clones- ones I have seen are not very well made. The Ruger Vaqueros asththically look like a Colt.

If I find a Colt for a fair price I will try to buy it. The Ruger new model Vaquero is also a very good Single Action Army type revolver but not exactly a Colt clone. Nothing like them- when you pick one up you will know. Neither the Vaquero nor the New Vaquero is a clone of the SAA.Colt SAA's are for the most part great- they did have quality control issues at different periods in the past, but new ones are said to be as good as any of the quality ones made in the old days. The New Vaquero is but I'd prefer an Uberti which is a Colt clone. The original Vaquero's aren't very close to the Colt's in looks. Many of the guns advertised on Gunbroker did seem relatively high-dollar, but not so much that one should forego the joy of owning and shooting a Colt-type due to actual Colt's being higher. Enough so that I think I could do it again possibly, but I've not attended a gunshow in a couple of years. I've scored used examples at gunshows for $300 or less in the not-so-distant past. IOW, very representative of the old west. These are both 7 1/2" barrels with case hardened/blued finishes and in 44-40 and 45 Colt, the two most popular calibers of the 1st generation Colt's. You didn't say what finish, barrel length or caliber you wanted. Sturdy and inexpensive, the Sauer clone single handedly destroyed the price environment for the American made Great Western.

The first European built reproduction of the Colt SAA was by JP Sauer of Germany. Here are a couple of used ones up for bid: The Peacemaker clone is now well established as the signature piece of any serious replica vendor’s catalog. Replicas worth it? It depends on the price.
